Rising Cost of Phosphor Affects Price of Fluorescent Lamps

Dear Elite Lighting Customer, 

Elite Lighting Company strives to provide our valued customers with the most efficient, high quality and innovative products in the industry.  This particularly holds true for our energy-saving fluorescent lamps.
 
Rare earth oxides are a vital part of creating energy-efficient fluorescent lamps and these oxides are produced almost exclusively in China.  Currently 95% of the rare earth oxides produced globally are sourced from China.  The Chinese government strictly controls the production and distribution of these oxides and has drastically reduced the amount which can be exported to other countries.  This growing global shortage has caused costs of fluorescent lamps to skyrocket.
 
We at Elite have been working diligently to mitigate the effects of this difficult situation.  However, despite our efforts, and due to the continued pressures in the rare earth market, we have no choice but to issue a price increase to all of our customers on our fluorescent lamps.
 
Therefore, effective August 5th, 2011, Elite Lighting Company will increase pricing on our fluorescent lamp line.  This increase may be the only increase, or it may be the first of a number to come, depending on the stabilization of the cost of rare earth materials in the market.  We will only  pass on increases to you as a necessity based upon price increases we receive from our suppliers.
 
In order for you to prepare for the new costs, we are sending this notice well in advance of the new price schedules effective date of August 5th, 2011. I want to encourage you to manage your inventories and place orders with us as soon as possible so that you can personally minimize the effect of the high cost increases that are being imposed by China.
